What is the All-on-4® treatment concept? | Nobel Biocare

This technique is based on a restorative implant approach using only four implants, as opposed to the standard 6 to 8 implants.
The All-on-4 dental implant was developed in 90 s by Dr. Paulo Malo (from Portugal). The primary principle of this technique is the angulated placement of both rear implants towards the distal aspect, to reach the most distal part of the arch, thereby avoiding the maxillary sinus in the upper arch and the mandibular nerve in the lower arch.

What does Immediate loading mean?

Immediate loading refers to the immediate placement of a restoration on an implant immediately after implant surgery is completed.


Once a specific initial stability is reached (we prefer 35 Ncm), all on four implants can be restored immediately after placement (ideally within 48 hours with a fixed temporary solution). Immediate loading can enhance the quality of osseointegration in case the bridge isn’t overloaded.
