Au cours de cette intervention, le chirurgien cr\u00e9e d'abord un lambeau pour acc\u00e9der \u00e0 la dent. La dent est recouverte d'os qui doit \u00eatre retir\u00e9 pour pouvoir voir la dent. Il arrive rarement que le chirurgien puisse extraire la dent enti\u00e8re, la plupart du temps il doit la diviser en morceaux.
