Ce mat\u00e9riau est compos\u00e9 de dioxyde de lithium, de quartz, d'alumine, d'oxyde de phosphore, d'oxyde de potassium et d'oligo-\u00e9l\u00e9ments. Les restaurations r\u00e9alis\u00e9es avec ce mat\u00e9riau sont tr\u00e8s esth\u00e9tiques et correspondent presque parfaitement aux caract\u00e9ristiques esth\u00e9tiques des dents naturelles, ce qui rend ce mat\u00e9riau extr\u00eamement adapt\u00e9 aux restaurations ant\u00e9rieures. Actuellement, le disilicate de lithium est l'un des mat\u00e9riaux les plus esth\u00e9tiques utilis\u00e9s en dentisterie car il contient une tr\u00e8s grande translucidit\u00e9 qui offre un effet cam\u00e9l\u00e9on. Et pour cette raison, le disilicate de lithium est sup\u00e9rieur en esth\u00e9tique \u00e0 la zircone. Ce mat\u00e9riau est presque 3 fois plus r\u00e9sistant que les autres mat\u00e9riaux vitroc\u00e9ramiques, il peut donc \u00e9galement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 pour des restaurations tr\u00e8s fines, principalement en raison de sa forte r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l'\u00e9caillage. Les restaurations r\u00e9alis\u00e9es avec du disilicate de lithium ont une durabilit\u00e9 plus longue. Il est \u00e9galement parfaitement adapt\u00e9 aux facettes dentaires fines (0,3 mm), aux couronnes mini-invasives, aux inlays et onlays mini-invasives. Le disilicate de lithium peut \u00eatre frais\u00e9 avec la technologie CAD\/CAM \u00e0 partir d'un bloc ou press\u00e9 \u00e0 partir d'un lingot. Les entreprises proposent souvent des lingots avec diff\u00e9rentes opacit\u00e9s en fonction du type de plan de traitement. Il existe des lingots \u00e0 opacit\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9e, \u00e0 opacit\u00e9 moyenne, \u00e0 faible translucidit\u00e9 et \u00e0 haute translucidit\u00e9. Le choix d'une opacit\u00e9 d\u00e9pend en grande partie du type de pr\u00e9paration et de l'aspect des dents naturelles. Avec la technologie CAD\/CAM, l'ensemble de la restauration est con\u00e7u num\u00e9riquement. Les restaurations en disilicate de lithium peuvent \u00eatre plaqu\u00e9es pour des restaurations tr\u00e8s esth\u00e9tiques ou des restaurations monolithiques de haute qualit\u00e9, de sorte que le mat\u00e9riau offre les deux options. Ce mat\u00e9riau se vante d'\u00eatre polyvalent sur le march\u00e9 sous la forme de techniques adh\u00e9sives, auto-adh\u00e9sives ou conventionnelles de cimentation.
