Zu einer erfolgreichen Therapie geh\u00f6ren eine gr\u00fcndliche Behandlung, perfekte Mundhygiene und die Eliminierung von Faktoren wie Rauchen und Alkohol. Die Behandlung umfasst eine Tiefenreinigung, das Entfernen von Plaque und Zahnstein sowie eine Wurzelgl\u00e4ttung. In einigen F\u00e4llen werden auch Antibiotika eingesetzt. Bei schwereren Parodontalerkrankungen ist eine chirurgische Behandlung erforderlich.
