Bone Lamina bone augmetation technique

The double layer membrane technique represents a revolution in the horizontal augmentation technique of alveolar bones. The conventional methods such as the transplantation of vital bone from the chin or retromolar region are replaced by a technique that only uses membranes and thus makes any bone removal from the body superfluous . Typically, two membranes are attached horizontally to the defect site, with the outer membrane serving for tissue integration and the inner membrane serving to stabilize the porcine grafting material, which must remain free of movement in order to achieve bone regeneration.
